This past week has been madness! Besides being out of town for work three days out of five, my daughter was being tested for four different figure skating tests which meant mom had to be present (which meant plus, plus time just sitting in the arena - this one had no walking track). I also sold my old vehicle (to a jerk) and bought a new Honda CRV EXL!!!!

Workouts have been few and far between this week - eating habits were great though which may account for the weight lost this morning (2 lb)! Have to get active over the weekend - tomorrow is Sunday school closing program and mother's day so that may not work as well as I like!

Goal for upcoming week: To get back on track with physical activity especially if I am going to compete in a sprint tri (or try a tri) on July 13!!!!

The last couple of weeks have been really hectic - trying to fit everything in has been a challenge but I have been doing OK. My PT says my body is changing composition - the scales are not showing it. I really need to get a fitness assessment redone.

I'm back from a wonderful (albeit short) vacation in Cuba where I ate, drank and made merry! I have no regrets - totally enjoyed myself. It was a much deserved vacation after a long, hard, cold winter.

But now the work begins a new...I have about 5lbs on...hopefully much of id fluid weight! I saw my personal trainer 12 hours after returning home, have my new program and I'm really to get back at it!

My goal is to lose the final 15 - 20 lb and to get sculpted! I wanna see some muscle definition! I will achieve this by:
1. Weight training (as per my program 5 times per week)
2. Cardio a minimum of 5 times per week (still having issues with my achillis tendon so within those limitations)
3. Eat healthy
4. No more alcohol (after 8 days at an all inclusive resort my liver needs a break!!!)
5. Rest when required
6. Enjoy life!

I leave tomorrow for the vacation (Cuba) that I set as a target for my weight loss goals. I came close to my goal (within 3 lbs) but I figure my weight will increase while I am gone. But the minute my feet hit the tarmack back in Canada, I plan to begin the second phase of this journey. That will include a weight target of 145 lb (I think) with a goal of decreasing BF and increasing muscle mass. I wanna be lean!

Well I am 6 1/2 monthes into this lifestyle change and I am pleased at my progress. My inital aim was fitness, running 10 km in under 60 min adn being satisfied with my body. About two months into the journey a trip to Cuba with friends came up (next month) so that has given me a target to achieve some of the weight lost goals.

I am pleased to report that I am less than 10 lb away from my initial target with about 10 days less to go - so hopefully I will be within 5 lb! I think after I return from my trip (and lose the inevitable pounds that I will be gaining - I'mm going on vacation after all) that I may dcrease my goal weight by another 5-10lb!

As for my cardio - I am a little side tracked at present! I have a minor tear in my achilles that has me limited to no impact cardio for three weeks to be re-evaluated by my chiropracter after I return from Cuba! So my cardio has moved from the streets to the eliptical, arc trainor, and the bike! Short term pain for long term gain!

The test on how I feel about my body will be on my Cuba vacation - bikinis don't hide much and I am vacation with friends - people who I see everyday! This vacation will be a test of my self esteem!

Things hsave been going pretty good but this cold has really impacted my cardio - I was running but can't even think about that now...my cough acts up really bad with that amount of effort. So I asm confined to walking until my chest clears.
More About Kathy
I have been working out regularly since Sept 07. I've been here several times in the past BUT this time the change is going to last a LIFETIME!!

I am the mother of a ten year old competitive figure skater (which takes alot of my time). I work fulltime and my hubbie works away. Time is a challenge!!!

I would like to lose 20lbs by July 1.

I resolve to:
Short term (by June 1, 2008):
1. Get back on track after my vacation in Cuba (April 7 - 16, 2008)
2. cardio 5x/week including trying to get back to running if my achillis tendon will ever heal!
3. weight train 3-4 x per week
4. Drink 64 oz water per day (this will be the biggest challenge!)
5. Obtain a Normal BMI (154 lb)!

Midterm Goals (by July 1, 2008):
1. Continue with short term
2. Try to increase mileage to run a 10 km race around Canada Day (July 1, 2008)
3. Try to find a 10 km race to run between June 15 - July 15, 2008
4. Obtain goal weight (currently set at 150 lb but maybe 144 lb) - BMI around 23
5. Continue weight training

Long term (By March 31, 2009):
1. To still be at this in 12 months time (the exercise and health habits not the weight loss part!)
2. To maintain a BMI of around 23!
3. To run a half marathon...if all works out...Myrtle Beach Half Marathon Feb 2009
